Paying It Forward

I’ve been privileged to work with remarkable mentors who have shaped my journey, and set the stage for me to experience the most fun and best periods of growth and accomplishment of my career. One pivotal moment came in the 1990’s, when Peter Moore hired me to work for him at adidas. He created the safe space in which a young designer could thrive. Peter set high expectations and gave me the creative freedom to develop the adidas Equipment Feet You Wear line—innovative, functional outdoor and action sports footwear that disrupted the market. He modeled the way for my future self to lead people, for when it became my turn. I draw on these lessons as a fundamental approach to culture and leadership.
